- Privacy-first: My data lives in a file I hold, my Codex Key (
.json). - Portability: Move my journey between devices by uploading the same saved Codex Key (
.json).
This scroll explains what My Codex is, how it works, and what values sit underneath it.
1. Who is this for?
If I want a personal, private way to journal my journey across the Grand Hall Library and its Halls — I will have a visual token (my Seal) image and a growing record of individual codex features and insights..
My Codex is an optional way to save and view my private journal/saved codex features and insights from OrdoMotus.Life© site.
I can still use the site freely without a My Codex Key.
2. What is My Codex?
My Codex is a simple template page that understands my personal “Codex Key” (.json) file to show my Seal image and my saved entries (insights, notes, scrolls, etc). I can add new insights and other codex features then download an updated Codex Key (.json) — keeping my journey file completely under my control.
A codex is like a modern book - A quire is just a book section.
.json file is private and uniquely mine.
3. Why use it?
4. How does it work?
My Codex uses a small browser toolkit that will:
- Understnd my Codex Key
.jsonfile and show it on My Codex browser page. - Show my Seal image in the Seal Forge Viewer.
- Append (Scribe) new entries (e.g. insights and other codex features) in a safe, timestamped way.
- Download an updated Codex Key
.jsonand optional image (.png) of my Seal.
Everything happens in my browser — nothing is uploaded or exchanged to OrdoMotus.Life©.
5. Where is my data stored?
In my own .json file (“Codex Key”). I can keep it on my device, my preferred cloud drive, or storage device.
When I revisit, I simply use my latest Codex Key file (.json) to continue my journey.
.json.
6. Common questions
Do I need to use My Codex?
No. You can still use the site freely. My Codex is an optional way to save and view your private journal with a visual token (your Seal) image and the growing record of individual codex features and insights from OrdoMotus.Life© site.
Does my data ever leave my device?
No. All processing happens in your browser. OrdoMotus.Life© does not store or transmit or read your private Codex key.
What’s inside the Codex Key (.json) file?
A human-readable JSON object: your Seal settings (inscriptions, symbol, palette, pattern), a short ID, timestamps, and lists for things like the growing record of individual codex features and insights from OrdoMotus.Life© site.
What if I change my Seal in the Forge?
Your Seal image will update accordingly. Download a new Codex Key (.json) to save changes.
